Surrey Steels became involved in raising funds for The Royal Marines Charity after a chance meeting between Tim Brett and former Royal Marine, Lee Spencer in St.George’s Hospital, Tooting. The whole team at Surrey Steels are incredibly proud of their supporting role in Lee’s incredible journey to date and always look forward to his next adventure!

The Lily Foundation

In 2022 Tim Brett completed the London Marathon in support of the Lily Foundation – a charity close to Tim’s heart. Lily was a friend’s daughter who lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at the age of eight months. Every day in the UK a child is born who will develop Mitochondrial Disease, yet we still have very limited treatments and no cure.

We are proud to sponsor Thurrock RFC’s Under 13s. The Academy for 13-18 year olds and the Little Acorns group for children between 3 and 6 are both free of charge and the Club relies on sponsorship for roughly 250 children. Surrey Steels are delighted to be able to support such a deserving cause.
